Everton Football Club has a new riverside home, moving from its previous grounds at Goodison Park to Bramley Moore Dock (see Figure 1, below). This brand-new £500 million stadium forms part of the ‘Liverpool Waters’ project, which aims to redevelop and regenerate Liverpool’s Northern Docks.
The new stadium is located on a large brownfield site on the banks of the River Mersey, north of the city centre. With a £56 million investment from the UK government as well as private investment, the Northern Docks will be transformed to include over 2,000 new homes, a new public park, a new school, community facilities and new river terminals for ferries and cruise liners.
