Answering 12-mark questions in global politics Paper 3 can be a daunting prospect, as you only have limited time to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding to the examiner, without losing time on the longer and more complex 30-mark essays. However, there are some simple rules you can follow to make sure you get everything down, meet the assessment objectives (Box 1), and do justice to your revision.

All the marks for this question come from AO1 and AO2, so your task is to provide coherent links between the two areas you are comparing, and explain how the comparison is relevant to the question to achieve AO2 marks.
