In this issue of GEOGRAPHY REVIEW, my article on green space and infrastructure outlines the multiple benefits of green space and explores how governments around the world are prioritising its inclusion in urban planning and development.
An investigation into the provision of green space in your local area could form the basis of an interesting NEA. For example, you could consider how and why access to green space varies, or how a local park is used and valued by different demographic groups. Alternatively, you could explore how green infrastructure affects urban microclimates, or how proximity to parks and street trees might link to physical and mental wellbeing. Another possibility would be to investigate how the quality of green space varies within an area and how this impacts the way it is valued and used.
