Pronatalism

© MDBPIX/stock.adobe.com

Pronatalism refers to policies aimed at increasing the birth rate of a population. With fertility rates declining in most developed countries of the world, several governments have introduced such policies.

These include China, Russia, the USA, South Korea, Poland, Hungary and Spain. Policies usually involve some kind of monetary incentive, including cash payments for each child, help with housing costs and childcare.
