QUESTION AND ANSWER

Review a ‘Crime and deviance’ question

© Jeff Gilbert/Alamy Stock Photo

This exercise requires you to play the role of examiner. Below is a sample question of the kind you might find on an AQA A-level paper. Your task, preferably working in a small group, is to read the student answer to this question and decide into which mark band the answer would fall. To do this, you will need to be familiar with the general descriptors of the various mark bands and have a sound knowledge of the three sets of assessment skills: Knowledge and Understanding, Application, Analysis and Evaluation. When you are at this point, here is a useful way to proceed:

1 Photocopy the question and the student answer.
