
As part of the Unit 1 (WJEC)/Component 1 (Eduqas) specification there is a bullet point that states you should be able to ‘evaluate the approach (including strengths, weaknesses and comparison with the four other approaches)’. This article focuses on how to make comparisons between approaches and how to use this as effective evaluation.
When students answer ‘compare and contrast’ questions on approaches, one of the biggest mistakes they make is that they describe both approaches rather than making a comparison between them. You can avoid this happening if you use the right language. Consider these two examples.
