This topic is covered by all the major exam boards.

Nutrition is an essential component for an athlete. It supports both physical performance, such as their ability to get around the pitch, and psychological performance, such as maintaining execution of skills like passing the ball to a teammate accurately. Optimising an athlete’s nutrition strategy before, during and after a competition will help them to both perform at their best and enhance their recovery afterwards, so they are ready for the next event or training session.
