AQA, Edexcel, and OCR all require an understanding of the biomechanical principles covered in this ‘Exam focus’, and the ability to apply them to sporting performance.

When performed efficiently and fluently by elite athletes, swimming can appear effortless. However, while physiology and psychology are vital to success in the pool, swimming performance is heavily dependent on the ability to consistently reproduce an accurate stroke under fatigue and competitive pressure.
