GEOGRAPHY WORKS NEW HORIZONS

Journalist

© Andrew Jack

Studying geography for A-level, and then at university, both reflected and helped to develop my interests, skills and knowledge over the years. It has been influential in the multiple roles I have had throughout my working life, most of that time as a journalist.

I always enjoyed the subject matter. Geography was far ahead of its time in stressing interdisciplinarity, exploring the interaction of humans with their planet, addressing vital issues such as climate change and migration, and fostering numeracy, literacy and visual representation and interpretation including with maps, charts and data in multiple ways.
