Nancy Gaffield is an award-winning poet and former lecturer in creative writing at the University of Kent. She was born and brought up in Illinois and Colorado in the United States. Before moving to Canterbury in 1990, she lived in Japan and Egypt. Gaffield is the author of six poetry publications and a libretto for an opera composed by Nicola LeFanu. Her most recent publication, ‘Wealden’ (Longbarrow Press 2020), is a collaborative work that explores the connection between nature, poetry and electronic music. ‘Weary of Theory’ is from her collection Meridian (Longbarrow Press 2019).
