JS Hello, my name is Jash Shah, and I grew up in Mombasa, Kenya. I am currently pursuing my PhD in economics at the University of Southampton. Aside from my studies, my other passions are dogs, mountain climbing, and Harry Potter.

As an international student, being far from my family has been challenging, especially in the beginning. Moving from Kenya was a bit of a cultural shock, and of course, the weather is a whole different story. However, moving to the UK for my studies has provided me with a great opportunity for personal growth, and it is also fun. Having two places to call home has its unique charm, and I’m thankful for both.
