When asked the above question, I state that I am not a vet, but instead a proud registered veterinary nurse (RVN), who has studied and worked hard to get where I am today. So, where did it start for me?
I have always loved animals, but the real game-changer for me was the 1970s version of the TV series All Creatures Great and Small. A young veterinary surgeon, James Herriot, worked in a mixed veterinary practice in north Yorkshire in the 1930s. The drama was based on books by veterinary surgeon James Alfred Wight, using the pen name James Herriot.
