Places of extremes

Coastal sand dunes are places of constant change and movement. A clump of rotting seaweed or a piece of driftwood can start the whole intricate process of dune building, as sand deposits around it and dunes build up inland. Beach-lover Ceri Harrop explores this phenomenon
